Do not pick up calls from number you do not recognize. Those who need and know you for real will leave voice mail. Blocking spammers' number is waste of time as their number is spoofed.
Honestly, not much you can do. However, if you go through the app store there might be apps that you can download to assist with that. But, I wouldn't really expect them to be too effective.
