I see that people have dropped calls while on the PM network. I switched from Fido to Koodo in hope of better coverage but it's worse! So is PM coverage worse yet? I use both voice and data. Since switching to Koodo, sometimes people call me and my phone doesn't even ring. Later I might get a vm. Like everybody, I'm looking to save money, but not if the public mobile coverage is poor.

For the most part Telus has better coverage in that area of Vanvouver Island than Rogers. But coverage is very dependent on geography. There are many mountains/valleys so getting a signal is hit and miss depending on your location.
If you can narrow down your work and home locations or where you spend the most time (not exact but ie. Cross streets) then we can supply better info on coverage of your local tower(s). Not all towers have all of the bands and location, height and azimuth are important factors to consider in mountainous territory.

That map shows tons of Telus towers nearby. No Rogers anywhere near. But I got better service from Fido than Koodo. Doesn't make sense.

You may also want to check the cell phone tower map:

To see which cell phone towers are closest to your main location.

Here is the PM coverage map:
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/coverage
It will be the same as Koodo and Telus.
Telus also share tower coverage with Bell.

Yes, I'm on Koodo presently. Not happy with coverage.

To confirm if your phone will work with Public Mobile, please see this link. Input your IMEI number to confirm at the bottom of the page.

@TeebeeOrNotTeeB did you change to Koodo? First, PM and Koodo are different companies but use the same Telus network
And your issue likely not a coverage issue but a VoLTE issue. Your phone might not be compatible with Koodo or PM's VoLTE. What brand and model of phone is that?
