How do I edit community SIM card change

3 REPLIES 3

@Gillian71

After verifying your account the moderator will likely ask you four of the following questions before performing the sim card change for you:

  1. Date of birth (n/a on newer accounts.)
  2. Last payment, date, amount, type and last 4 digits.
  3. Alternate phone number if any.
  4. Security question and answer.
  5. Plan amount, any add ons or promos on account.
  6. Last 4 digits of sim card.
  7. Any rewards in your account.
  8. Autopay y/n?
  9. Account #.
  10. Frequently called/texted phone numbers in the last 30 days.

Familiarize yourself what you could be asked so you are prepared. Do not answer them here only in your private messages with the Moderator_Team.

Hi @Gillian71 we used to be able to change sim card from self serve but as @Triguy already posted above, we now have to go to the Moderator_Team to change sim card

  • Unfortunately, SIM card changes are currently unavailable through Self-serve. To change your SIM card, please reach out to us at publicmobile.ca/chatbot and type SIM card swap.

Use the links already provided by @Triguy above to contact moderators.

It may take from 1 hr to 2 days (faster response these days) to receive a reply from the moderators.  Keep an eye on the envelope icon on top right for a number to pop up. That would be the moderator’s reply.

Moderators are available:

  • Monday to Sunday: 6 AM to 10 PM EST

Have a nice day

REMINDER:  Please do not post any personal information in the forums.  These are public forums and there are quite a number of fraudsters lurking around ready to steal your personal info.

To change your sim due to recent sim swap fraud, you will need to submit a ticket to a moderator.

Please note: In order to protect our customers from SIM swap fraud, we have temporarily disabled all online SIM swaps through Self-serve as of March 8th. To change your SIM card, please submit a ticket

Here’s when and how to contact the Moderator Team:

  • Get help with your account the easy way by starting a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon. It’ll take you to relevant help articles, or if it’s something more urgent, it can help you submit a ticket to the Moderator Team. Click here to get started.
  • Alternatively, you can send a private message to the Moderators by clicking here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Community account for the link to work.
