@softech

Good point, will try.

@RG6U

then check with support first,  they might offer you to reimburse the cost of the physical sim card

No worries. Glad to help. Well, a physical SIM may be your only option then. Here's one last link from Google support re: eSIM settings, just in case...

Hey softech

Thanks for the info. Tried scanning multiple times with camera, QR scanning app, Google Lens....all a no go.

@RG6U

Any phone has eSIM support should work with PM.

Sometimes you got an error from the app saying the phone is not compatible, however, it might just because the app had trouble installing the eSIM.   You can try to manually install the eSIM  using the QR code on the email

So it's from Koodo from quite a few years ago. Tried scanning multiple times and still a no go. Was told not compatible on the PM registration system so purchased a PM SIM card from Telus here in Ottawa. Will try in the a.m. with a CS agent. Thanks to all...what a great community!!!!

Found an interesting thread from Google support:

https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/1800499/how-can-i-add-my-esim-to-pixel-3-xl?hl=en

"There are certain SKUs which don't have eSIM support such as the ones sold in Australia, Japan and possibly Verizon in the US."

Apart from that, eSIM should be supported on the Pixel 3XL. Did you receive a QR code via email from PM? If eSIM installation failed, you can try up to 3 times to reinstall.

What should I do if the eSIM download fails?

If the eSIM installation fails, you have the option to retry the download up to three times. If the issue persists after three attempts, you will have the option to contact a Customer Support Agent for further assistance.

Hope this helps.

Hey maple_leaf

So it's GP3XL and new activation. Tried eSIM since Google website says it accepts but apparently PM systems only take 3a and later.

Hello @RG6U , when you say the eSIM didn't work, what went wrong? Also, is it an iPhone or Android? Is this a new activation or was it a swap from SIM to eSIM?
