My cell phone says I’m roaming in the US but I’m not. I am in Canada. How can I be sure I do not get charged roaming fees?

you won't get charged roaming fees as PM is a prepaid carrier

Your phone has automatic network connection and picks up the US tower connection.  Just change the network to Manual and choose Public Mobile to force the phone to stay with PM (just make sure you change it back to Automatic if you bring the phone to US or other countries)

NO worries, you won't got charged extra.   PM is prepaid and you won't get charge without you actually buying the addon ahead

the reason you have the issue is that you are close to the border and the phone picked up the stronger US network signal.  To avoid that, go to the Connection settings on your phone, change Automatic network connect to Manual and choose Public Mobile

@Chrystall  No worries public mobile is pre paid service and you can only use what you have already paid for and will never get a surprise bill . If you’re close to the boarder that can sometimes happen the phone picks up US tower but nothing to worry about .
