I’m travelling to Turkey in few days, would like to know if I can still receive text over there from Canada..

I was referring the TextNow. You can call and text internationally from Canada or USA with TexNow. So you can call or text to Turkey but they can’t call or text from Turkey.

WhatsApp is great as long as you and your friends here in Canada are both using the app. 

When you are in Turkey, you will need access to Wi-Fi or mobile data. 

When I am traveling in Europe, I like to get an Orange Holiday eSim which provides you with an actual telephone number to allow you to make calls and texts along with mobile data. Good luck.

@BKNS27  you can text internationally from Canada, means you can text Turkey, but you can’t call all countries, I don’t think PM can call Turkey.

Sorry, I should rephrase my comment. You can call or text from Canada or USA internationally but can’t call or text outside of Canada and USA.

So you can call or text to Turkey from Canada or USA.

You can use WhatsApp for free calling and texting through wifi.

You will not be able to receive calls or texts from Canada in Turkey.

PM has roaming service only in US, you need to have roaming add-on or can/us plan.

no you won't  PM has no roaming service there.  PM only has roaming for US

if you need to receive text from friend, setup a VoIP app like Fongo or TextNow and use it to send and receive calls and text
