Roaming in Alaska with Public Mobile - April 2025

Hello,

We will be going on a Cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage Alaska while on Public Mobile with US roaming plan. Does anyone have any recent experience with network connectivity at ports and in town with Public Mobile plans? 

Will I need to buy AIRALO plan or anything?  

I keep reading mix information from past post, I'm curious about more recent experiences.

Awesome. Thank you. As long as we have Data on while roaming, we should be good. We have WhatsApp that we can use for calls.

both your S21 and S25 would work with PM data roaming addon.  Just make sure you connect using 4G or LTE on AT&T network

with your S21,you might not get voice (but S25 will have voice without problem) as your S21 is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist.  But on S21, just use VoIP app like TextNow or Fongo to calls on mobile data using the app

I have no personal experience but here is a recent Alaska cruise to Anchorage:

You might have to pay for wifi on the cruise  ship.

No personal experience, but here is a couple of newer posts on the issue.  Looks like need VoLTE approved PM phone.  Which model phone are you using?
