This happens when one tries to log into multiple accounts on the same device they use to access all accounts - moreso when using the same browser or saved page.
Your device 'remembers' the login credentials and does some crazy stuff when switching between the PM self-serve landing page and the rewards portal (which is kinda a portal within a portal, if you will)
I experience it too and it's annoying. Always gotta pay attention and keep atop of it...
