I would speak to a Customer Service Agent about a possible refund. Here's how to reach themhttps://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

@imy  When you select to change a plan you are given two options, "change now" or "change on renewal".  If you choose change now your plan change is immediate and charged immediately with no pro-rated refund for what's left of the original plan.  That's why unless you really need the new plan right now for some reason it is always best to select change on renewal.  Then the new plan will kick in on the next renewal date and you will only be charged for it at that time.
