The Refer a Friend Reward
How does it work?
It’s simple: you will earn $1 every 30 days for each friend you refer to Public Mobile who enters your phone number in the Referral box during activation. Plus, your friend will receive a one-time credit of $10. You’ll continue to earn Rewards on plan renewal dates as long as your friends remain active customers. If you’re on a 90-day plan, this means you’ll earn $3 every 90 days for each friend.
How do I refer a friend?
When your friend is activating their SIM card, they will need to enter your 10-digit Public Mobile phone number. If your friend forgets to enter your number, we can’t manually apply the credit to your account, so make sure they do it right the first time! Below is what the referral field looks like:

To be eligible to earn Rewards, you must have:

Considerations for Rewards-ineligible Customers
Customers who are on a Legacy / Pioneer or 10-day plan not eligible for Rewards. If you are a Legacy / Pioneer customer and switch to a Rewards-eligible plan, please note:
How many Rewards can I earn?
You can earn up to your current plan value in Rewards, reducing it to $0. Once you reach the value of your plan, you will not be able to accumulate any further Rewards in that plan period, and you will not be able to save Rewards and apply them to future months.
Here’s an example of how you could get your plan down to $0:
You will earn $5 in Loyalty Rewards + $2 in AutoPay Rewards + $2 Community Rewards + 36 referrals at $1/30 days. That’s $45 in total Rewards, and a sweet $0 plan!

How do I know when I've earned Rewards?
Whenever a reward has been successfully applied to your account, we will send you a text message to let you know. To check the Rewards you’ve earned, log in to Self-Serve and check the ‘My Rewards’ section in the Overview Tab. You can also select the ‘My Rewards’ button and see all the Rewards you’ve earned since joining Public Mobile.
Below is an example of what you would see from the Overview tab, for a customer who has been with Public less than 1 year, and has no referrals:

Regarding the referral bonus 1GB data add-on that was indicated during my activation process, I wrote to the mods about it and they immediately added it to my account! No questions asked, other than verifying my info.

@savsingh74 best to contact the mods and ask them to look into it. send them the phone number so they can cross reference the application

Agreed. If the promotion is still showing during activation, then it should be honoured. Curious that they STILL haven't removed.

The bonus gig promo has long expired but for reasons known only to the PM staff, they have chosen to leave the mention of this promo on the activation portal. Maybe its a little game to check how many of the new customers are paying attention 😄

I activated my sim a couple days ago and used my friends number for referral, and it still showed the referral bonus 1GB add-on during the activation process. When I look in self-serve, there is no mention of this bonus add-on anywhere on my account.

@Taekgun Yes the bonus gig promotion ended a while ago (mid late November) but it was still showing up during the activation process in mid December. Not sure if the activation page is still showing it or not. (Have not activated a sim in a while)

If you didn't add your friends number during the activation process, there is no way to add it after the fact - not even the moderators can make a change.
This means that you won't get the referral credit or the 1GB credit on your account - sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
On a side note, I'm pretty sure the 1GB referral bonus promotion has ended a while ago.

Great program, and beneficial to all. I didnt realize until check out that the reffered person also gets a benefit....1 GB. is that just for one month or forever?

I forgot to add my friends number as a referral. PM should have a way to manually add this after activation so me and my friend get our rewards.

Within 72 hours, you will be able to see 1GB data add-on in selfsever.
When you sign in, on the overview page, you should see in the add-ons box.

Hi I refered a friend, he became active public mobile member, how do i see my extra gig data after how many hours will show visiully on my Account ?

@j0nf it is one time reward. it does not renew. think of it as an insurance policy if you go over your monthly data. (that is when it is used. if you never go over your montly data you will never use the bonus).
this bonus data will stay on account untill it is used up. it is ideal for people who occasionaly go over their montly data or for people on talk and text plans who use minimal data ie my mom who has used 80mb of data in last 100 days.

Yes I did get that text message. It was back in April. I also just noticed that I stopped receiving my refer a friend reward back in January even though nothing about my or the person I referred's plans changed. What do I do now? I will PM the moderator team. Thanks for your responses.
