Recurring rewards

Does the reward earned by participating community is recurring every 90 days like the refer a friend and loyalty rewards.
I mean if I auto pay I will get 6$ for 90 days for every time I renew my plan. Does this same thing apply to my community reward? If someone can give me knowledge regarding this matter that will be great.

@dohadotahmed I think @imm1304 has given you a pretty good explanation.  Basically once a month, PM evaluates the community activity over the previous month and essentially rank everyone in the community into buckets based on some proprietary weighting formula. They have intentionally withheld the details of how the rankings are calculated, ostensibly to prevent people "gaming" (manipulating) the system to try to boost their ranking.  They have assured us that it is a balanced analysis that takes a person's overall participation and activity into account.  So, it's not as simple as # of replies, or # of bravos given, or # of bravos received, or # of threads started, etc.  It's an overall participation type of thing.  That's unfortunately as specific as I can get based on what they have told us.

 

Now, as to your question about do the community rewards recur?  the answer is "yes and no".  So, they recur in that every month, they are handed out based on the previous month's participation.  But they do not recur in that, if you got a particular community reward in January and then your paricipation dropped off in February, you may not get the same level of reward--it might be reduced, depending on February's rankings, or it might even be zero if you've fallen below the lowest threshhold.  On the other hand, if your participation increases in February, your amount could potentially go up.  But every month is a new month.  It's also a bit of "grading on a curve", given that the rankings are essentially percentiles, as I understand it.  So, if everyone else is too busy to participate and/or you're a rockstar that month, you could go way up, and vice versa, and so on.

 

Okay so with all that said, here's the bottom line:  try to think of the community reward as a fun "bonus" if you end up getting one.  If you look at the time required to put in the type of participation that would get you a reward of X dollars and divide it by the Y hours you spent on the community getting there, you can rapidly see that it's not really worth worrying about much.  Quite honestly, you could probably make more money in a given month by picking up empty pop cans on the street and taking them to the bottle return depot for the deposits.  It's not going to be enough money to make much of a difference in your month, especially when you consider the time.  On the other hand if you enjoy participating and trying to help others and interacting with others on the community, then focus on that, and if you happen to score a little discount toward your next renewal in the process, then that's a nice little bonus.  That's how I tend to think of it anyway.  My $0.02.  🙂

Example #2 in the link shared by @Luddite is pretty good. Given what @imm1304 said, let's apply this. Let's say in Month 2 I was super busy with work and was inactive in the community forums. But in Month 3 I bounced back. Here's what your reward scheme would look like:

 

90-day plan

Community Rank

Reward Amount

Reward application

Month 1

Top 50%

$1

 

Month 2

None

$0

 

Month 3

Top 0.5%

$6

 

Total Community Reward 

 

$7

Applied all at once on plan renewal date (day 90)

 

You would not get any rewards for that month that you didn't contribute but you'd still have the rewards from the months you did contribute.

Yes I already did go through the post you refer before I post and didn't get my answer.
Actually I find the community reward is little complicated. It's not like the other rewards which is straight forward. Thanks.
