I just returned from Mexico. I had a problem calling numbers in Canada (Edmonton specifically). When I tried to call with 1-area code-number. I received a message saying the number could not be accessed. However texting was working fine. Once I had someone at the number I texted call me once from their end, after that I could call that number back no problem. Any thoughts?

You input the "+" sign first before the number, so +1-(area code)-xxx-xxxx

You're dialing something wrong then, or your phone has some settings to append something automatically. Look through the settings in your phone app. My Pixel has "Assisted Dialing' in the settings, which I would start by toggling off and/or on, depending on what it's current set at.

we are in Mexico right now and can dial Cdn numbers without using 001 or +52...or any other trick. It works here just like it would ta home.

No it was several different numbers. After someone called me from their number, I could call back to that number no problem without using "001", just "1".

was it just one number with the problem? you don't just call with a 1, you need to call : 001 + area code + phone number
