Re: WORST SERVICE EVER

totally agree. It was fantastic when I had my first cell phone 2006 but I tried to set up a phone for my brother who was also hospitalized and had a run around trying to find where to return the phone - it did not ring now waiting for it. No human to talk too. Horrific.

Thanks very much, yes I am currently in Etobicoke, I bought the phone for my brother who is much older - I will check them out if I need to, I will need help putting the sim card back in the new phone once I get it back. I made the mistake of putting the account under a different email than the phone I bought because it was for my brother who doesn't use computers and I was going to switch to Public Mobile myself after (not doing that now) but my email I bought the phone is different from the account phone account. That is another thing I will have to do is change the email address on the account but first things first.

Are you located in the GTA? Have a look at Canadian Cell Supplies. They offer activation bundles with a 20% discount on the first month and a free sim card. The owner is very helpful and can activate their sim cards for public mobile in 10 minutes. They will help port in a number, explain how to finish setting up the self serve account enter any promocodes you may have and enter your friends referral code for the $10 bonus referral code. They often have additional flash sales on offer that you may also qualify for or sometimes offer additional 10 or 20% discounts if you prepay for pm vouchers to be preloaded at activation. The owner strives to provide excellent customer service. There is a retail location in North York and a pick up location in Mississauga.

Pretty sure it was Public Mobile- they were their own company and only covered the Toronto GTA initially which was all I needed. Their services expanded over the years but the point was - I had an actual person I could talk to if I really needed to. I appreciate all the feedback. I will post here in future if need be - I was contacted so hopefully this will be resolved soon, my brother doesn't even own a computer so this was not the best choice for me.

My phone is with Rogers but my older brother is very thrifty and after Virgin stopped their pay as you go he has not had his own cell phone for several years. He is not as computer literate as I am but likes the flip phones and does not use a phone much. I did get a response back from a Customer Service Rep so hopefully this will get resolved. I used to have to deal with website problems at my job so I am aware of how websites etc. work but usually there is a live person you can deal with if you continue have problems- it would take a few minutes to resolve.  I have been trying to set up his phone since Feb. - have even gone to two different Telus kiosks for help initially - I didn't know that Public Mobile was taken over by Telus initially or I would have kept looking. If he wasn't very sick I would leave it.

Could you be confusing Public Mobile and your past experiences with another carrier? Public Mobile didn't exist in 2006.  In fact, Koodo hadn't even been created yet at that point.  Public Mobile was originally an independent company and wasn't owned by Telus at the time of inception.  Public Mobile also had a horrible network back then.

@Mary_Pederson  All support is online. It says it right on publicmobile.ca

To make an account you need a brand new new sim card and a cell phone that is compatible with public Mobile.

Once you have a sim card you go to link below to activate and sign up.

https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/portal/activation

You can get a sim card at Walmart/London Drugs if you have one near you. If you don't want to activate by yourself at home they will even do it for you and get you up and running. If the store does it then all you have to do is sign up your self serve account when you get home. Which is at link below.

https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/self-registration/

Sim cards can also be bought on Public Mobile site, Amazon and third parties like Canadian Cell Supplies.

These forums your typing on we are all customers like you.
