it won't help in court ! if you held phone in your hand !

but you can see call history don't worry .

@CannonFodder  It works for no bicycle helmet tickets but I think they take distracted driving a little more seriously.

Methinks that's about the only way @khalilnadeem1  is gonna "beat the rap".

I HIGHLY doubt they are going to set you free if you come up with records showing you weren't on a call.

Could have been writing a text or an email for that matter.

Could have been looking at a web page.

listening to music or watching TV!

pluging in the charging cable.

All are distractions that don't involve call records.

EXACTLY! Might have been sittin' there playin' a game of Boom Beach, Candy Crush, or, dare I say.... Sudoku! 😉

I can't recall now... are the distracted driving laws federal or is each province different. I know there are frequently disputes in the news in BC but I think it is rare to get charges overturned.

Even just picking up the phone to look at the clock would probably be considered distracted driving.

If it's anything like BC traffic tickets, you need to dispute the ticket. Then they set a trial date. Just standing there pleading innocence won't do anything. You need to show that the accusation is false. You're innocent to start of course. But they will present evidence to prove that you did the crime. You need to refute that evidence.

Not disputing it implies a guilty plea and you take your lumps.

Also, if the police have video of you with the phone in your hand and they present that, it's going to be hard to beat this.

You posted in a thread about just signing up. So if you just signed up, what are you doing here? So I doubt you just signed up. The usage logs only go back 3 months. I suppose you would need the moderators to dig out your history. Thus the second part of the thread title.

Why wouldn't you have collected this data when the cop wrote you up?

@Anonymous I have moved your message into the new thread that I created for this member.

Old news repeat question. Apparently I don't sit at my computer all day tallying who all writes what. 🙂

Thanks for noticing computergeek541.

My undrerstanding is that you don't have to be in a phone call or sending/replying to a text message to be considered using the phone, and simply have the phone in your hand is enough.  I'm not so sure how much the call history would help. It would be best to talk to a lawyer.

@khalilnadeem1   I'm afraid @Dunkman is right, I just tried and the system only allows going back to Oct 11th.  You can send a message to moderators via SIMon here: https://publicmobile.ca.ada.support/chat/

They may be able to give a longer calling history report.  Good luck.

You might be out of luck.  Under usage history in your self service account, you can see the last 3 months of usage.  Ie. calls, data, texts.  September 9 is more than 90 days.

Log into your account and on the overview page under 'My Plan/Change my Plan', click where it says 'View My Usage'.  From there you can see all your calling and texting usage.  You should be able to select a period of upto 90 days to view your usage.
