RCS unavailable after porting number

Edit// this issue resolved itself, none of the below suggestions had any effect and it just spontaneously resolved.

I ported my number from Virgin mobile/plus this morning (well over 5hrs ago) and my number seems to have ported fine. However, I use Google messages and RCS chats no longer work, I just get a revolving status message saying it's trying to connect and then times out says something like "verification attempts exceeded". Is this a common issue? I went from a SIM to an ESIM and I have both currently on my phone with my physical SIM turned off so only the ESIM is active.

I have already tried clearing cache/data, restarting the phone multiple times, and turning RCS off and doing the previously mentioned then turning RCS back on. My phone is a Samsung galaxy S21+

Old sim card is still in the phone (phone has dual sim capability) but the sim card is turned off/deactivated. Esim is the only active one.

Edit// removed the physical sim card, still have the issue.

hey @Cass_D

you removed the old sim card or disable old esim, right?

Hello @Cass_D

It's been recommended by some to turn off RCS for 3 days and sometimes up to 2 weeks and then turn it back on for it to re-register sort of speak. It's been said that after 10 days of being turned off, it started working again.

Here are some other trouble shooting steps to try out.

Incoming calls work, sadly I still have the issue after trying these suggestions.

hi @Cass_D

first, make sure you port is really completed.  can you receive inbound calls?

if you can receive inbound calls, then we can try to fix the RCS issue. Start with a phone reboot and reset network settings

if same, uninstall Google Message first, reboot phone and reinstall and re-enable RCS to force a re-registration
