Hello, I am not a current user of Public mobile.
I am very interested in the US and Canada $29 / mo plan. I live in Canada but I am planning to be in the USA for a couple of months. So, I just wanted to clarify some things regarding what I can do with the 29 / mo plan for Unlimited talk and text
When I am in the USA, can I call other people in the USA using the unlimited minutes?
When I am in the USA, can other people in the USA using their local phone plan or will it count as an international fee for other people calling?
When I am using data in the USA, what type of coverage should I expect? What partner carriers will I be using?

I have the Canada-USA plan for the past year and have had no issues using my phone when in the US. Its super convenient if you find yourself crossing the boarder often and don't want to buy a roaming plan each time.
When calling or texting someone in the US you will not find any interruption of service. But its always dependent on which carrier you connect with, somw have better service that others. But ive travelled to a bunch of areas, and never had service issues.
As long as youre on the Canada-US plan, whatever you have here you have there. So if the plan has unlimited calling, its unlimited on both sides of the boarder.
Most US carriers offer the same thing of unlimited calling and texting to international/canada numbers. Ive never experienced an issue with those ive encountered.

Yes.

It will count as long distance calling for US phone numbers calling your phone number. Your phone number is Canadian number.

Decent coverage. Uses AT&T and T mobile. Recently Verizon is also being used as partner carrier.
One potential issue is to make sure that you phone is VoLTE compatible with Public mobile. Most newer phones are. Otherwise, you willl have voice calling issues due to the decommissioning of the 3G network in USA.

@curiousguy yes you can use the phone the same in Canada and the US to call within, from and to both countries. You do need to have a Public Mobile VoLTE "certified" phone. I'm not sure about 2, someone else can answer that but at least some of it will depend on the other person's plan where they can call to. In the USA the carriers are AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
Here's the list of VoLTE phones, anything on the list or a newer version of it should have no trouble with calls. Even a non-VoLTE phone can still use data and texting.
