Hi. I have a problem. I changed my number less then a month ago from a 437 area code (Toronto) to 604 (BC) area code and need to retrieve my old number.
My gmail account would not allow me to change my number in my account without entering my password which I changed recently and cannot find where I wrote it down (it's been a hectic summer). My phone number was set as my recovery/security further complicating the issue. Now Gmail has completely locked me out. The only thing they've been able to suggest is to retrieve my old number. Is this possible through Public Mobile?

@esjliv It is nutty. I have an alternate email and put in a request to Gmail to reset my password through this alternate method of verification. They say it takes up to 72 hours for this email to be sent to me to my alternate email. Never received it. Submitted that request three times in 2 weeks and checked all of my folders.

Please remove your number from public forum.
Since number is not in service it means it is not allocated yet. Good!
Talk to agent asap and he might (just might) be able to change your current number to old one. Good luck. Let us know if that happens!
To contact CSA-agent, there are 2 methods:
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/contact-an-agent
If ticketing does not work very first time, contact agent directly.
- Send a private message to the CSA - agent by clicking Here
Watch for envelope in top right corner of Community page. It will show Number of unread emails.

I think that is nutty there is no other way to confirm this information with Gmail @ana4 , although I understand it I suppose if you have no other recover method. Do you happen to have an alternate email connected to this gmail as well?
This must happen at times, when people no longer have access to a particular phone number; same happens when people no longer have access to emails in similar ways too.

Yes that's a Telus number. So, good. What happens when you call it? If someone answers then it's gone. Otherwise yes contact the support people to see if they can get it back for you.

I picked up a new number here - the old number is a Public Mobile number.

Did you port the number from elsewhere or did you pick up a new number when you started here? Can you provide the next 3 numbers of the number you want back. We can see who "owns" it. With it being only less than a month there's a far outside chance that the support people could pull it back for you.
