Hi.
I have a friend who recently ported their parents phone from Fido. While she was going through the port process, an SMS from Fido was sent to the dad's phone asking whether they authorize the port out. Unfortunately, he did not notice the sms within the given time and my friend did not know about the SMS. However, the porting process indicated success. The make things even more complicated, her dad got a new iphone and wanted Public Mobile on the new phone instead of his old Fido phone. So when it came time to setup the e-sim on the new phone, there was no SMS to be found because it was sent to the old phone. it was only later when she took the fido phone to take the Fido sim out (so his dad won't get confused), did she notice the port out SMS. But since the porting process indicated success, they did not worry as data and text started working within 1/2 hour and he can call out and she could call him on her mobile (also on PM).
The issue now is that the Public Mobile service works, however, he cannot receive calls from non Public Mobile accounts. In other words, she can call him via her mobile phone because she's also on PM, but her work land line phone cannot call him. It just rings and rings... no voicemail. Same thing with his friends calling him. He can call the people that cannot call him. It is very strange.
So parents being parents, they did not notify her that he was having incoming call issues until after she closed the fido account.
I think at this point we need help.

After some calling of Fido and PM, her dad's phone is finally activated. What happened is that Fido needed to reactivate their account and line so that they could redo the porting process. During the porting process, her dad got the text, but when he replied "YES' it still came back with invalid response... turns out the iphone, by default, has some kind of stupid emotion thing turned on so even though he literally typed YES, it was actually sending "YES (sent with gentle effect)" which is totally bizarre to us non-iphone users and Fido would not accept the answer. Long story short, it took almost the allotted 90 minute time limit to help him turn this feature off so he could reply YES without having any other words in it.
After that, it ported out as expected.

In this case as you missed the authorized text, you can contact with Fido to confirm the authorization porting number to PM. You also address this with PM.

yes, you just need to contact porting support team and they will reinitiate the process
