Hello:
I'm trying to port my current (functioning) prepaid Koodo number to Public. I already have my Public temporary phone number. However, the form keeps advising me to enter a valid Canadian phone number. Any suggestions?

I didn't get a text to reply to. As I spent (time = money) several hours at this yesterday, I am unwilling to spend much more time. I really need to talk with a live human, not through Chat. If I cannot do this, then obviously Public is not the right company for me.

Did you reply to the text with YES confirming you are porting over to PM with the Koodo SIM in your phone?
This is the most important process in porting your number over. You have 90 minutes to reply or porting will be cancelled.
Also, if porting is not completed, your Koodo SIM will continue to work and your Koodo account must be active before porting over.
Good that your old carrier is Koodo because it will be easier to port your old number over to PM.
Meanwhile, contact a CS_Agent to complete the porting process and switch the temporary number.

@Sukie First is your PM account active?
if you have not activate a PM account yet, just activate first and pick a new number as a temporary number
Once activated successfully, you can make and receive calls on that temporary number, then open ticket with PM support as what I mentioned above

Sorry, Mayor, I misunderstood. Apparently my temporary number has not been activated. I have no idea what that number might be, and am not sure I even have one. I've confused the very helpful, very polite Live Chat person.

@Sukie if you have an active PM account and a temporary PM number already, then what you need to do now is to open ticket with PM support with a manual porting request instead of using the form on My Account. Please open ticket using this direct link
