Its been over 24h that we've activated a new Public Mobile line (porting in from Virgin Mobile pre-paid) and while it appears that the porting worked instantly when we were at Walmart, we've now confirmed that:
Nobody can reach the PUblic Mobile number when calling from a Bell, Rogers or any landline. We get a number is not in service message.
When I try from multiple Telus numbers, everything works perfectly.
I know Telus owns Public Mobile. Could this be the reason where the porting was done internally within Telus' network but not on the outside? I've DMed a moderator and awaiting a reply but was wondering meanwhile if anyone ever experienced this
Phone is an iPhone 6S and I did try turning it off and back but no dice

All is sorted out. Took 48 hours total for full porting
First 2 days it only worked within Telus's network (Telus, Koodoo & Public Mobile).

@HoTiCE: that's an interesting twist on porting. Seems lots of people have delays with it. But to test it with the different carriers to find out where you are in the process could be useful.
