Hello @msaali18 you have been a community member for some time, so are you porting over a Koodo phone number into an existing Public Mobile account?
If it's Koodo prepaid then you can click this link and type in “port request” to be put in touch with a Customer Support Agent (CSA).
If not prepaid, log into My Account and go to the Profile TAB to transfer the number over, under the "Transfer Phone Number" option:

Just open a public mobile account . Then just say your keeping your number . Follow the instructions . Once number is with public mobile contact Koodo to make sure your account is cancelled.

your Koodo old SIM card must be inside your device and your account with your previous provider must still be active so you can receive and respond to the SMS and authorize the request.
do not replace your old SIM card with your Public SIM until you have responded to this message SMS to reply yes ,.in the message within 90 minutes to approve the number transfer.
If the previous troubleshooting steps didn’t work, and it has taken more than 2 hours to transfer your mobile number, you will need the help of a Customer Support Agent. Chatbot

First you go to a koodo or telus store and buy public sim or buy one online from public or Amazon then activate a plan , you can port your number during activation unless it is koodo prepaid then you take a temp number and contact a customer service agent to help with the number port, leave koodo sim in phone to receive porting request , reply yes within 90 minutes and you should be done

@msaali18 To transfer your phone number to Public Mobile, be sure to either have your phone's IMEI number or your previous account number (different from your phone number) from Koodo. After that, enter it when you register on Public Mobile's website. Koodo will send you a text message, asking you to confirm the switch, just reply YES to their text. Hope that helps!

You can do in regular way (open PM account, keep both account open, request number transfer through your account) or Porting from Koodo prepaid – contact CSA as Koodo and PM are under the same parent company – Telus.
