I sent a private message to a moderator on Tuesday and have not yet received a reply. I know you are extremely busy, but am now wondering if I sent it correctly, so I am resending my question.
I have activated my new PM number and want to port my Koodo number over to PM.
I would like to confirm that if there is a delay in porting, that my Koodo number will still be able to be on the current promo plan. Does the porting have to be completed before Nov 20th or can it be done later.
I also have a complication that I have used the same e-mail address for Koodo and PM which I understand creates a problem.
Should I attempt to port the number myself as per the excellent instructions elsewhere, or should I have a moderator do it because of the the email issue.
Thank you very much.

I have activated my new account and need assistance porting my Koodo number to PM.
I have asked the community several questions and have received excellent answers but it looks like I still need your help.
Can I port the Koodo number after Nov 20 and still retain the promo plan?
I have 2 potential issues.
I have used the same e-mail address for both the PM and Kodoo accounts.
I still have a smal Tab balance with Kooddo which I have requested be paid and will be done on my next bill.
Would you please let me know that you have received this message and will deal with it in due course.
Thank you very much.

From what I've read. They will be honoring the plan for any porting/activation failures BEFORE November 20th. Dont fully quote me on that though aha. I think if you choose a temporary number you should be fine, and get some assistance with the port

Thank you again.
Do you know if I can port my number over after Nov 20 and still retain my promo plan for that number?

Im not sure about the tab balance. I came from a month to month no tab plan because i brought my own phone. Im still not sure about the username issue. Because i used a different e-mail from the beginning and then changed it after I ported over. But i never saw that issue when I changed my username.
I would wait for the mods, it may be a while though considering how many peolpe are switching over

Are you trying to change your email/username on your self serve account? Or your Community account? They are different from one another.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I looked at changing my username and it said "Please note that changing your username will not change the email address on your profile".
Is this a potential problem?
I also have a small Tab balance on Koodo which I have instructed to be paid, but it won't be done until my next bill.
Is this an issue?
Does the port have to be completed before Nov 20th?
I should probably take your advice and get help from a moderator.
I will wait for a response before sending them my account information?
Thank you again.

@ibh here are some tips to follow that people have used successfully to port koodo and telus numbers.
- do not use the same email address for Kood and Public Mobile
- do not request the port-in during activation; take a temporary number, log out, confirm all services are active, log back into your account and select Transfer Number under Change Phone Number
- do not use any identifier except your Koodo account number; it is always the best item for any port-in request
- do not make any errors in the Authourized User; this must be exactly as it appears on your Koodo bill
- do not use the person's Koodo number as the Alternate Number; use someone else's
- do not forget to click "I am authourized ...." BEFORE you entering your Koodo number (courtesy imm1304)

what you could do is log into self serve and change your username (e-mail adress) and then attempt the port, but if you're too unsure. It would be best to get help from a MOD. I had no issues when I ported my number over from Koodo
