My Number (867) 33X-XXXX was ported from Bell. About 5 hours ago.
It seems to be in limbo.
I can call anyone, but only persons with Public Mobile can call me.
I am not able to send or receive SMS from non PM users either.
I have restarted my iPhone and I have reset Network Settings.

Which city is your phone number from? Phone numbers from very few cities in northern territories can actually be ported to Public Mobile.

@David1090 As long as your account has not been in suspension more than 90 days you will eventually succeed in transferring it out.
Since you use that number for business I'm not so sure any other carrier will be more dependable. I have given some thought to the issue of service disruptions and have concluded a residential phone service, cellular or landline, alone is not a good solution if you cannot tolerate several days without service. A business voip service seems to offer the best balance of dependability and price BUT I am not an expert just an interested bystander on business service.
Some reading for you:

There is no number. I transferred my number Friday it’s Monday now. No ticket response. Text messaging is not working. I can’t port my phone number out of PM because that requires messaging so I went to a Bell/Virgin store to see if they could port my number out. They phoned Telus porting since they own PM and there’s no one to phone at PM, after 5 min the Bell Sales person handed the phone to me, Telus said they can’t port out of PM and they don’t have a phone number, it was about a ten minute conversation. Anyways no number no way is the bottom line. I need messaging for business, banking, social etc so I opened a Virgin account. I’m hoping to port my number that I’ve had for ages out but I’ll see. I need to move forward and get things rolling again no matter what (see the bank, business cards, phoning a list of people informing them of my new phone number, etc). I will see what develops tomorrow. I never dreamed of lossing my number but if I do I’l chalk it up as a lesson learnt. Time is money. One of my biggest concerns is missing someone out of the number change and losing touch.

There is a number to call to talk to live support, they can re-trigger the process for you. I will message the number to you via the Community inbox ( https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage ) . Check the envelope icon on top right. Call them and get it fixed

This is a public community forum so remove your personal information by click on the V in circle and edit your post or you will get spammed.
Reboot your iPhone by power off then back on if you replied to the text from Bell with YES confirming you are porting over to PM. If that didn’t work then contact a CS_Agent by typing in Submit a Ticket on the Chat icon. Staff hours are 9:00am to 10:00pm EST.
