I changed my plan to a newer one recently and just now when I checked my account, it had reverted to the previous one without any authorization from myself.

If you are using Google Chrome.
Open settings using the three dots at the corner.
Click privacy and security
Navigate to clear browsing data
Select cookies and other site data
Press clear data and refresh your browser then log into your public mobile account and the changes should come into effect.

Your probably looking at old cached information before.
Try logging into your account using a browser in incognito or private mode instead.
Then do a refresh of the overview page using the little circular refresh wheel.

Try using different browser. Try Incognito/private mode. Clear browser’s cache. Try forced refresh. Use computer and not phone to log in.
Did you schedule plan change or you did change plan Now?
