Phone says no service

Hi my phone says emergency calls only no service at the top and phone doesn't dial out it says "cellular network not available" I took it to the retailer and they said it might need new sim card what can I do to get it working thank-you. Please send replies to subchronic@hotmail.com.

Well if you tried taking the SIM out and putting it back in and it didn't fixed it, you can purchase a new SIM card from various retailers for $10 or online on PM's site.  Once you have the SIM, you can change the SIM registered to your account on self serve. 

There's a link in the middle right side of the page saying "Change Sim Card" and you enter the new number and click/tap submit.  If it's still not working, try restarting your phone and taking the new SIM out and putting it back in before asking for more help.

Is this a brand new activation recently, have you ever used service on this phone successfully? If not, make sure the SIM card is seated correctly in the phone. If placed incorrectly it will not function.

Secondly, if this has worked before and this is sudden, it is very likely you need a new SIM card. Try taking your SIM out and putting back in, also reboot your device. Failing that... You can go to a store to buy one and then reach out to the moderator team to switch your account over to the new one. Explain your SIM card had become defective and you have the new one.
