I don’t have a lot of funds most of the time and my phone plan comes after bills so sometimes I don’t have enough to cover it, normally it puts my account in the negative then bounces a few days later but now I have my bank asking me if I’m going to pay the negative in my account and I’m wondering why would they keep it at a negative this time when normally it does not go thru at all

Public Mobile has no nsf fees. If there's not enough $$ in your account, the bank is who you should be talking to about the nsf process.

My understanding is the bank shouldn't have let the payment go through unless you have overdraft set up on your account. But pm has no control over weather your bank or visa pays them they just sent a request for payment and if they do your phone will continue to work if not it should stop. So your problem with your bank going into overdraft and you will need to take it up with them and request them to not let it happen.

PM account CANNOT be negative. Either you do Have funds on it or you do not.
If you use Debit card (live money) then PM will charge it and if you do not have money on your Bank account, bank will go into not sufficient funds mode and you will be charged interest and penalties.
From PM point of view - you paid your bill. Now you have to deal with the Bank to cover negative balance.

Hello @Daphnen
In my opinion, I think it's best to remove that option from autopay here in your account. It would be best to perhaps purchase vouchers from places like Shoppers Drug Mart and then just apply them to your account. Then if your funds run out, your plan is just placed on hold till the next payment. This way you don't get any NSF fees or overdraft charges. Pay it with vouchers when you have funds available to you once your other bills are paid.

your account doesn't go negative. If you don't renew at renewal date, your Public Mobile account just SUSPENDs until it is paid. You then have 90 days "grace" to renew it.
