Hi everyone,
I am interested in getting the new POCO F2 Pro (global version) but just wondering if it will work OK on Public Mobile. The following are the frequency bands it supports:
I seems that the phone supports B4 (1700/2100), but it's missing support for B12(700) and B13 (700). My question is, how well will the phone work in LTE network with only B4 (1700 and 2100 frequencies)? Are B12 and B13 important?
Thanks very much for the help.

Thanks very much. I've resorted to acquiring another phone as I'm also convinced it's because I was on the 2G network when I was still with Fido prepaid. I didn't have data with my fido plan so I never had to test the 2Gness in that way. I just think that it was presumptuous for Public Mobile to automatically confirm that my phone would work. Even after my issue was escalated to the technical department, their response was to check for a damaged SIM and if it was ok, then my phone was considered incompatible.

Fido runs on the Rogers network, and they are generally "the same" as the Public Mobile rep indicated to you, except the Rogers network also has a 2G GSM network, where as Public Mobile does not. I'm guessing it's possible your Fido phone was still using the 2G GSM network, If the other bands supported by the phone from Uganda were incompatible... With that said, the Rogers/Fido/Chatr 2G GSM network is going to be shut down very soon - last official announcement from Rogers was by the end of 2020, but I see it still active, at least as of today in Saskatchewan...

Thanks so much! I unfortunately switched over to Public Mobile from Fido prepaid using an old Infinix Note 5 that I used and purchased in Uganda.
Technology
GSM / HSPA / LTE
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100
4G bands 1, 3, 5, 8, 40, 41
Speed HSPA 42.2/11.5 Mbps, LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps
I was previously told by Public Mobile customer service that if my phone worked on Fido, then it would work on Public Mobile as well. I trusted that advice and it turns out that it doesn't work (I confirmed that the SIM card works on my super old LG Nexus 5 so it wasn't a SIM issue) so I'm busy shopping for a new mid-range phone.

I'm looking at the Poco X3 NFC and according to GSMarena https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_poco_x3_nfc-10415.php it has the following bands
Technology
GSM / HSPA / LTE
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41
Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A
I'm currently on the PM $15 plan so it includes 250mb of 3G data. Would I be ok using the X3 phone?
Assuming that those specification are accurate, then yes, this phoen is good to go. 850 and 1900MHz is required for the 3g bands for vocie service (phone calls to work), while data and text messaging can also be used on this network.

@dookie23 The phone will work. B4 and B7 are the main LTE bands required, B12 and B13 mostly come into play in rural areas.
