PM eSIM Compatibility with US iPhone 15

Hi,

CS suggested that the problem I'm facing might be due to the fact that my iPhone 15 Pro max purchased in the US is not compatible with Canada's esim. Is this true? I purchased unlocked directly from Apple store. Does anyone have similar experience?

Thanks,

Tri

UPDATE:

I found a solution in case anyone runs into similar issue. For some odd reason, when I purchased the eSim on the new phone the process was not completed probably, twice and the physical sim on the old phone is still active. After some back and forth with the CS, an idea came to me. I purchased the eSim through the app on the old phone. The purchase went through smoothly without being stuck at loading and the physical sim was immediately disabled. I then declined to install the esim on the old phone, hoped on the new phone, opened the app and boom, it's asking if I want to install the newly purchased eSim. Did that and everything is now activated properly on the new phone now.

@snoopaloop  I also still have my physical sim in the old phone should I remove that?

I'm not sure of the answer to that but if the account still thinks the physical sim in the old phone is valid I'm not sure how it can replace it with an esim on the new phone - and you can't put it in the new phone since it has no sim slot.  Maybe someone else can explain how this might work.

HI @snoopaloop

ask PM support agent how you can rebuy a new esim and ask them for reimbursement

Somehow CS said they don’t have access to generate eSIM QR.

@snoopaloop

message Customer Support to get a different QR  code and re-try the activation.  (no physical sim slot eh ?) 😳

@snoopaloop - If it shows this:

It means that either you deleted the eSIM and or are trying to re-install the eSIM. You would generally have to get another eSIM for that.

If it shows this below, then it is better:

But what you are seeing, I don't really know what is happening.

Wait... also there is a new 2.02 update out. Do you have an update to the PM App within the App Store?

@hairbag1   The US version of iPhone 15 doesn't have a physical sim slot, unlike the Canadian version.

the purchase is stuck in limbo loading screen twice and when I scanned the QR code on desktop it’s not activating

Hi @snoopaloop

no, I don't think that is true.  Ask support to regenerate you another esim qr code and test again or ask them how you can rebuy a new esim (and they reimburse you the cost)

@snoopaloop - Is your phone's region Canada and Apple ID's region Canada? Also with the Apple ID you will need to cancel any subscription in the Apple ID.

What does it say in the app?

@snoopaloop

what is the issue you're experiencing ? CS is generally correct, but occasionally may have incorrect intel.

added,

how about trying a hard sim rather than esim. Do you know anyone with a PM account that would let you try their hard sim in your phone...to test.
