This is my question,
Is it possible to have paid subscriptions to two different PM accounts and then combine these two SIM cards onto one of these dual SIM Card phones??

Depending on where you live it may be possible to get third party cable internet cheaper or at about the same as Rogers. I know in Quebec and Ontario there are a number of third party internet providers. Tek Savy and Start Communications are two of them here. I have dropped cable TV at home and use one of the above for Internet over cable.

Hi @OhHappyDay!
Adding to Martin's post, I would also recommed you speak to retentions department at Rogers.
Threaten to cancel the internet service if any punitive price increase is the only way forward. I have heard several unhappy Rogers customers having to go the retentions route to find a fair solution.
I am not familiar with your precise set-up but there are always good deals possible for internet service if you keep looking. You may find an alternative internet service plan and that could be your way out. For example, I am on a $60/month unlimited 100u plan with Rogers. If your plan is from 8 years ago,I suspect you will be able to get faster download speeds for a fair price if you renegotiate because the fastest speeds of 8 years ago have now become the average.

@Rockdaddy22 oh, yeah, that makes more sense. I certainly hope so anyway!

@OhHappyDay wow you're locked in to Rogers for EIGHT years?!?! I didn't even know that was possible/legal! 😞

Hallo there Oracles and PM community!
*waves*
I was thinking about you and thought I'd send you out a wee final message to sum up!
This had been quite an exciting adventure for me and I was soooo looking forward to
the day my new "dual phone" was up and running......yipeee!! ..... "NOT "
I'd done my homework, I thought, studied many of all the terrific posts regarding how-to's
and potential problems/fixes,and asked my questions on the board for affirmation before
going forward...it all has been so exciting and fun for me actually but apparently I forgot...
*starts to cry*
.....seems I forgot to take one thing into consideration, and it's a real biggy, and this has absolutely,
100%, no way around it either, has crashed my desires to port my home telephone number to PM
and onto my lovely new BLU One X dual phone....*crys bitterly*....and it's all because of ROGERS.
Seems if I request my phone to be transfered.....my Rogers bill will skyrocket since it's attached
to a "bundle" EVEN THOUGH the phone+tv have no plan and I'm paying full price for them! The internet is still part of an "8yr" plan and so their definition of bundle stands and binds me to making no changes.
I've asked someone to help me regarding this....so hopefully things will change, and I'll be back to
register my home phone to PM too.
PS: thanks for the experience so far, it's a most useful and wonderful community for helping
and smiles!! BBFN

Well so far so good
My old PM number is now happily associated to the new SIM card and it fits snug-as-a-bug in the new phone!! I had written down all the set-up steps yesterday, and today worked slowly through them all. It went very smoothly with phone, text, data...check check check!! I also ordered that second SIM card like you guys suggested and when it comes in I'll be back to set it up as line #2 on the new phone.
PS: FYI srlawren I'd say you did good! considering my "non-techie" writing could easily be read ambiguously to a "techie" kind of person like you Oracle types...yah think? 🙂

@OhHappyDay ah yes, I didn't realize you were planning to use two PM SIM cards. Most folks that make use of dual SIM use it for a second carrier and/or for a work and personal line and/or for a domestic and foreign carrier for roaming out of country, etc.
That's an interesting idea what you're doing--porting your home phone line to a second mobile line. I think I'd be inclined to just foward my home phone to my mobile phone for a few months and tell everyone that calls me on it to call me on the mobile line, then cancel the home service entirely. But to each their own! 🙂
Given this info, it does seem like your best bet it to order and wait for a second new tri-punch SIM card, unfortunately. Sorry I didn't realize what you were doing sooner, or we could have suggested you order the second card in advance as well. 😞

Okay here's what I'm going to do.
I have this new BLU Life One X Android
and the phone has two SIM card slots.
One slot will be for my active PM 5year old phone number 🙂
and the other slot will be for a new second account for my home phone to be transfered to.
Tomorrow I'm going to try and activate my old phone number onto the new phone using this nice new SIM card using the "Change SIM card" process suggested by srlawren and supported by Martin.
Rockdaddy22 thanks but though I am tempted... I'm not very confident at all to try it....but it's so cool that you do and are able!! Ahhh yes the difference between being a milleninal and a baby boomer 😄
....and thank-you, yes I will order a new SIM card for the future home line transfer...and progress slowly.

Hi @OhHappyDay,
With all due respect to Rockdaddy22, I disagree with his suggestion that you cut your SIM card to size.
You waited this long to obtain a phone meeting your specifications. Why not wait until next Wednesday for a brand-new tri-punch SIM card?
If you plan on cutting a card to size, you will first need to watch several YouTube videos to get the hang of cutting a card. Then, you will need a very sharp pair of scissors to reduce the standard-size card to PRECISE measurements. Assuming that you do that, you will require a fine file to smooth the edges of the card. Then, assuming that the measurements are PRECISE, you can insert the card; set the APN to PM's requirements; and, reboot your phone to have service.
On the other hand, if the dimensions are even 1 mm greater than required, you risk jamming the SIM card in its slot, thus damaging the contacts and pins. Count on spending about $150, give or take, on replacing the pins.
There's a reason that the following adage rhymes: Haste makes waste. It reminds people not to be overexcited and impulsive when they have a task to perform. (Wait until next Wednesday for the 3-punch SIM.)
Food for thought.

Hi @OhHappyDay. If I understand correctly, the SIM card in your Galaxy phone is standard size rather than Micro, but you need Micro for the new phone. Also, you have already received a new 3-in-1 SIM from PM?
If that's right, then simply "punch" or push through the Micro-sized part of the new SIM card, make note of the # on the card, put it in your new phone, then on your computer, sign into your PM self-serve account. Once you're signed in, click on the Plan and Add Ons tab, and then the "Change SIM Card" sub-tab. Carefully type in your new SIM card number, click Submit, and once it finishes saving, turn on your new phone.
You will not lose your plan or grandfathering by changing SIM card. You only lose that if you change your plan. (Or stop paying and become inactive for more than 90 days).

Hallo Community 🙂
Re: now am getting ready to set up and activate my brand new "dual" phone
So I recieved the new 3in1 SIM card from PM (which will eventually have my landline number transfered to it), and I have also removed the SIM card from my old Samsung Galaxy 2x but guess what.... there's already a glitch where I'm needing your advice please.
The original PM SIM card I have is Standard size and the new phone only has Micro slots. So "to cut or not to cut it down to size" ? After doing a search about this I'm confused because it seem to support both!.....and if I do have to order and wait (maybe two more weeks by the sounds of it) for a replacement SIM card to come will I lose my cell phone number and Grandfather plan with PM too?
Thank-you all very much again !!

Thanks for the links, @srlawren. Too bad neither of these solutions will work for my purpose (atleast not without a phone case, which I currently don't wish to get). Oh well.
