@smitty267  The PC-Mobile APN is in fact the Public Mobile APN settings not sure why you called it PC-Mobile? Maybe at one point you were signed up with them and then you modified the APN settings to work with PM. Anyway, I think you should reset your APN settings to default and then manually add the Public Mobile APN settings as per Simon's recommedations (? bottom right of your screen type APN settings)

My dad seems to be experiencing the same thing although he says the PC mobile apn seems to work fine for the data.  He's also on a Xiaomi phone.  It only started recently after he went on a trip and used 2 other sims in the phone.  When he came back, the phone would auto choose Telus apn and when we selected Public mobile apn, it would mysteriously change to pc mobile but the data continued to work.

Doesn't really help you, I know, but at least you're not alone!

Do you have a dual sim phone where one sim is preferred for data usage?

If you're phone's APN setting are switching on their own, this is a phone software issue. You'd have to take this up with the manufactuer.  Have you tried removed the other invalid APN settings?
