My brother lives in Oshawa Ontario, where could he go to get with public mobile. He's with Freedom Mobile and I'm trying to get him to switch to public mobile, although he's having a difficult time trying to find a place to do this. Another question, is it possible for him to keep his current number when he switches to public mobile?

When I switched my IPhone 15 from Freedom to Public Mobile in mid Sep 2024, I did everything from the comfort of home (BC Sunshine Coast) — all that was needed was a comfy chair, decent WiFi connection and several minutes of patience

There is no place to help him with activation he has to do it himself it's very easy to do. I prefer the physical sim. Does he own his phone and yes he can keep his number lots of videos too help him

Unfortunately there are no more store activations.  Everything is all online now. He should be aware that Public Mobile is self serve.  If he's not tech savvy or usually requires telephone conversation with someone, there are non here so this provider probably wouldn't be for him. To stay with Freedom.

But if he wants, he can download the Public Mobile App to his phone and follow the steps.  There will be an opportunity to request to transfer his Freedom number yes.

See locations that might sell SIM cards. Or buy the $4.99 Public Mobile one from Amazon. It works fine.

He can port his existing freedom mobile number to public mobile.

If his phone is esim compatible, that would be the easiest. Otherwise, he needs to buy a sim. If there is no local store, the fastest way is to order one from Amazon.

He should download the app and follow the instructions. Purchasing the esim from the app is easy. Good luck.
