I wouldn't say that Oracles are administrators. I was never informed of any obligation to keep an eye on things such as duplicate threads. Oracles do have some abilities to move or edit but don't have to.

PM Community Moderators are paid employees. They can access your Self-Serve account, make changes, etc.

In the end PM is a business out to make some money. But the PM Community is still an excellent place to ask questions, find answers, and fix problems with All Things Smartphone. The Oracles were each chosen for specific reasons, not the least of which is their comprehensive knowledge about how things work with PM (along with many other related and unrelated topics).

According to Wikipedia: An oracle is a person or agency considered to provide wise and insightful counsel or prophetic predictions or precognition of the future, inspired by the gods. As such it is a form of divination.
In the context of the Community, it's just a member rank. Public Mobile choose members to be assigned to title, and they may consider things such as: length of time as a customer, number of posts, number of bravos or solutions, recommendations/nominations by others, and other factors that might come into play when Public Mobile makes this decision.

Oracles are customers like ourselves that have been asked by PM to become oracle. Have been long term members who have helped others in the community.
I prefer to think of us as communing with Pythia to provide guidance.
Here we are awaiting news of which PM bug will be squashed next; the timing was not clear, however.

@ljdemontOracles are a group of 8 Public Mobile users who are selected by Public Mobile to answer questions and administer this forum. They get compensated $20/month for their participation.
