If you have an iPhone....take a screen print of your “message” settings and post.

@Alwayset : iphones have their own peculiarities. Their texting app is iMessage. It can do instant messaging over the internet to other iphones. Standard SMS is needed to text Androids. Standard SMS doesn't need the internet. But sometimes this gets tripped up in the Apple world.

HI@Alwayset  check your Galaxy store and make sure the text app is up to date

You might also try to download Google Message and see if you can receive text there

(and you tried your SIM on another phone?  this could tell you if it is device or PM issue)

Check if you can send text to that number?

Try removing her contact from your contacts list completely.

Then re-add it.

Removing and Reinstalling the message app, or clearing is cache perhaps.

@Alwayset   is that just one person you cannot receive the text or multiple?

Did you receive voice call when she calls you?

If you have that person as a contact then might you have them blocked? Can they call you?

@Alwayset  - it should be determined if it is an issue on their end or your end.

Do you have someone else you know that can receive their texts?

Try a reboot of your phone, and if still issues do a reset of your network settings.

If you, or the sender has Chat Features enabled, try turning them off. This would be for android users.

Disable your Chat Features:

  1. Open Messages
  2. Tap More options > Settings > Chat features
  3. Turn Enable chat features off

For Apple-

If you turn your data off occasionally, then it is recommended to turn off iMessage altogether and use regular text messaging instead.

To do this, go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage off.

If you prefer to use iMessage, then you can perform the following steps to fix the issue:

  1. Connect to the internet using WiFi or Data.
  2. Go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage OFF.
  3. Turn your iPhone off completely, then turn it back on.
  4. Go back into Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage ON.
  5. Make sure “Send as SMS” is also turned ON.
