Not getting SMS messages

bshrizvi

Hi,

I am not getting SMSs from a specific number. This is a US number and from a SaaS solution provider I use. How can I get Public to unblock the sender?

if it is sent by a 10 digits phone number and not a 5 digits shortcode, you can login My Account and check the Usage history and see if it ever shows up there.  If it is there, then somehow your device blocked it, check your phone

if it is not there, you can  open a ticket with PM and give the phone number and the screenshot of the usage history for tracing,

Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.)  Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
Or message them using this link:

It sends it using a phone number (not a shortcode). SMSs are coming in (consistently) when using a Rogers SIM, just not on Public.

I swapped my eSIM with another carriers SIM and was able to get a text from the number on the other carriers #. Its not the phone.

@bshrizvi does the SaaS sends the code via shortcode (like 4 or 5 digits) instead of regular phone number?

Please note that international shortcode text, like 2FA text from US banks, are not guaranteed., it is a hit or miss. Regular international text are ok but not shortcodes.  It might work on some providers sometime and experience show it will broke sometime

only Canadian shortcode text found here are guaranteed

No cross-border routing agreement

For a U.S. short code to work in Canada, the service provider would need:

Agreements with Canadian carriers (e.g., Bell, Rogers, Telus)

Approval from the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA)

Most services don’t bother setting this up, especially if they mainly operate in the U.S

You are talking about shortcode from US.  It is normal not all non-Canadian short codes can be received

It doesn't look like it. I was getting SMSs before I swapped from Rogers. Also, the sender (SaaS offering) mentioned Twillio is given them an error "Your message was filtered (blocked) by the carrier."

Hi @bshrizvi

This would have nothing to do with Public Mobile. This may have to do more with your phone itself. I would suggest going into your phone settings and make sure you don't have "block unknown numbers" unchecked in your settings.
