All of a sudden I'm getting a "no sim card" message on my phone. At first it was intermittant but now it's permanent.
thanks

As above and/or check that your Sim card sits snugly in the Sim slot. If possible test the Sim card in another phone and vice versa to rule out a device vs Sim card issue.
If you still get the same error message contact customer support and ask them to try reprovisioning your Sim card to your account. If that does not solve it then you will likely need to replace your Sim card. While rare Sim cards can wear out or be defective. It can't hurt to ask if PM is willing to credit your account $10 for a replacement sim card. ( Save your receipt.)
Public Mobile sim cards are available at corporate Telus, Koodo retail locations and some Mobile Klinik locations (call ahead). Online at Amazon.ca for guaranteed delivery times, Public Mobile (2 to 10 business days depending on your location-usually faster in the west than the east.) Or if you are in the GTA at Canadian Cell Supplies for pick up and one day delivery or the rest of Canada via Canada Post in about 5 business days.

Hey @mike681
This can happen for a number of reasons. Depending on what phone you have, it could be a software/hardware glitch. Perhaps your SIM card may be faulty. Sometimes, your network settings can get buggy for no reason. I'd suggest a few things. 1. Check for system/software updates. 2. Do a complete refresh of your network settings. This MAY clear your bluetooth and Wifi settings you have saved but it's a small price to pay to resolve this. If it's still happening after all this, try using your SIM card in a different phone and see if you get the same results. If so, the SIM card could be on it's way out the door and you may need a new one. $5 on Amazon.

It could be your phone is dying or contacts are getting oxidized or dirty.
Remove SIM, clean phone's SIM contacts (gently!!!), clean SIM's contacts. Try to peek inside SIM compartment to see if contacts are bend. Try again.
Test your SIM at another phone if possible.
