I transferred my phone from Freedom Mobile to Public, I can see I'm on the Public network and I can make outbound calls and texts. I'm receiving nothing however, this is a massive problem as I'm not getting any of the two factor auth codes that you need to login to online banking. I just received a "tip" from the Public chatbot that I need to accept the phone transfer request from Freedom while there SIM is still in the phone, I don't know if I did this at the time and I no longer have my Freedom sim. I need this fixed ASAP as I can't keep track of any of my finances. Please help.

as a consequence, people new to Canada cannot do banking for a week, and thus can't buy new phone accounts... if their phones from their country of origin do not work in Canada (as, say, from Afghanistan.) 2FA can be fatal to functioning in the digital economy, for refugees.

Please note that there is no indication of successful number porting inside the Self Serve account. Koodo does give porting status inside Self Serve, but Public Mobile does not. If you are thinking to check which phone number is shown, Public Mobile always shows the ported phone number as soon as the porting request has been submitted. Also, calling 611 will give no indication of whether the number has finished porting to Public Mobile or not.

If not then you need to get a new Freedom SIM and replace the old SIM number with the new SIM number.
Or you are left with picking a new PM phone number if you don’t want to replace the old SIM.

The easiest way to get this all done might be to replace your Freedom Mobile SIM card. Your Freedom number must be still active to transfer the phone number.
You need to open a ticket using the Public Mobile chatbot: https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
After a ticket is opened, a Public Mobile customer support will response and can get the number transfer re-attempted. If you've replaced your Freedom SIM card and it's now in your phone, you will be able to reply to the porting text message to authorize it. If you don't have the Freedom SIM card, you will need to call Freedom customer service and have them manually authorize the phone number transfer. Note that this all must be done within 90 minutes of Public Mobile re-requesting the phone number porting.

@Hamlett257 first, you are receiving incoming calls? If so, porting has been completed
Actually, it is normal for 2FA text to come later. 2FA text are system generated text and usually take longer to know you changed provider and to route the text to the correct provider. And Bank's 2FA could be even later as they put a delay on purpose to avoid SIM fraud, could be as late as 7 days.
So within 2 or 3 days, you should see 2FA text coming, and within 7 days all 2FA including banks should come
Again, this is normal for 2FA text after a porting
