I just subscribed to public mobile. While activating my physical sim card, I was asked to choose a number what I did. Surprise the number was already used by another client. A 6-digits code was sent to the number and I need it to access my account. Till now I can't even use my phone. I would like to know how to change and choose another number.

yes, this is a glitch with Telus/PM system
You don't be able to login My Account and do anything now. So, what you need to do is to ask support agent to help to pick another number first. since you got a working number, you can then login Y Account later and choose another one again
