@Margita can you make and receive calls? Does mobile data work?
If text is the only thing with problem, make sure you removed the old provider sim card or disable the old provider eSIM, then reboot phone and Reset Network Settings
If you have an iPhone, update the carrier profile
If you have an Android, uninstall Google Message (it might just uninstall the updates and return it back to the original version it came with the phone), reboot and reinstall/update Google Message

@Margita What phone are you using? Have you removed your old physical sim and replaced with PM sim? If eSIM, make sure the PM sim is set to primary. Do phone calls work?
