this helped a lot as I had turned the old SIM card off but I really needed to delete it completely off my phone. Once I did that it worked.

Do data or text work? Is it just calls?
What model of phone is that?
Make sure you removed the old provider's sim card, if if that old one was an eSIM, disable it
The Reset Network Settings on the phone and test
If you have another phone around and if the PM sim is a physical sim, test it on another phone
