Hello, 

bit if a weird one here but I can only currently call the Canadian CIBC/TD help numbers when I am in the states. I work daily in the states that’s why I opted for the 50$ CAN US MEXICO plan but everytime I try to call them from my home in Canada I either get: 

1. call cannot be complete as dialed please hang up and try again 

or

2. The 8um1 code 

let me know if this is a phone issue or a common service issue?

VPNs have no effect on standard phone calls.  They're only for internet services.

added...that ain't gonna work then.

Known issue with customers who have traveled outside of Canada. PM is aware and working on a fix, which may take several weeks. 

You can try to reboot your phone first.  If that doesn't work, then contact customer service agent as described earlier.

It is a 1800 number yes. The number is +1 (800) 465-2422

is that a 1800 number? Many had trouble with calling 1800 number and need PM support agent to refresh the account to resolve the issue.  Please submit a ticket with CS Agent using Chatbot here:

             Type the question "Submit ticket", Then click the following in order: "Contact Us" ,  "Other",  "Log In".  
             (If unable to receive 2FA SMS, click "Didn't Receive Code" or "Resend Code" and Select "Send Email")
