New customer is pretty quick within a few minutes was my experience, porting over from another provider, can take a few hours sometimes.

It depends if you are porting your old number over to PM or picking a new number.
It should be right away if you are picking a new number but your need to reboot your phone phone after activation.
If you are porting your number from another carrier on the PM app. It could take up to 2 hours after you reply to the text with YES from your old carrier with the old SIM in your phone but your old SIM will continue to work until porting is completed. Then power off the phone and switch to the PM SIM.

hi @Johnbgood
if you got the new sim card with you, use the PM app to activate and it is pretty much instant
if you are porting a number into PM's new account, make sure you have the account number of the old carrier and make sure the line still active and you need to get a text from your old carrier and reply

You have to download the app to sign up. Once you follow the 6 steps, you should be up right away. If you choose to port over a number from a different provider, that could be a few hours.
If you are choosing to port over from another provider, I'd suggest signing up with a temporary number first and make sure all the services work such as calling texting and data.
