New phone Servo X5 with active SIM card does not work, why?

Hi, I bought the new phone to switch to LTE. It supports the following bands:

2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900

3G: WCDMA 850/2100

4G: FDD-LTE(B1.B3.B5.B7.B8.B40)

I can see Telus and Koodo 4G networks, but cannot see Public Mobile, not 3G for which I have a subscription, and neither PM 4G network.

What if anything can I do to make my new phone work?

Thank you

@jdd586, this site shows cell tower maps by carrier.  However, the map doesn't get into details on what frequencies are available from each tower.  As a general rule of thumb, stay away from phones not designed for the North American market.  There's bound to be shortcomings on compatibility, especially on LTE.  B4-aws is not used on the other side of the globe.

@jdd586 It's a waste of time. You need a phone more compatible with the PM network. This is the list of Telus/Koodo/PM supported frequencies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telus_Mobility

If there is no 850 MHz 3G of b7-2600:MHz tower in your area, there would be nothing to connect to.

Thank you for the answer.

1. WHat do you mean by "limited casity"?

2. How do I get the PM network even show up?

Please kindly explain

This phone has very limited compatibility. On 3G, 850 MHz only. On LTE only b7-2600 MHz which is not that widespread compared to b4-aws.

In theory, and if those specs are correct, your phone should work on Public Mobile, but only in limited capacity.

Unfortunately, this phone really isn't a good choice for use at Public Mobile.  In lacks compatibility with some very important frequencies such as the Band 2 (1900MHz) on 3g and Band 4 (1700Mhz) on LTE.
