New number today but appears to have already been assigned

richbb
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Just registered, activated and paid for 2 new accounts today.

One works just fine, the second xxxxxxxxxx does not.  Someone

else answers the number so it appears that I have been assigned a number

already in service with someone else??

Have tried it several times with the same result.

What is the solution?

Thanks

Richard

Hi @richbb always good to know that a fellow customers issue/problem is resolved.  Yay!

It would be nice if you go to the reply that helped you the most and click ‘Accept as Solution’ on the response. It helps people find answers more quickly and communicates your appreciation to the people who helped you.  Thanks in advance.

Have a wonderful day

Not rebooting the phone couldn't make incoming calls to be directed elsewhere.

@richbb just making sure...did you activate the 2 accounts by using a different email? Each account needs it's own unique email.

You can change your number in SelfServe every 30 days. Even right after activation you are allowed one number change, so I would suggest trying that.

BTW @richbb you revealed the 289 number to everyone online now, so it would best that you change it 🙃

@richbb : I think you'll need to change the number. Maybe pick a new one that has never been assigned. That would be newer area codes with new prefixes under it. We all like to have what looks like a normal local number but I've quite enjoyed not getting junk calls or collectors or whatever. And you might even find a pretty cool number under them. Unlike all the cool numbers are long since taken in older area codes.
