New SIM, new account, new plan, No Service

Activated my new sim card today. Signed up and paid for a "Text Only" plan. Ported in my old phone number from SoloMobile. Phone is not locked, IMEI is okay, and phone does recognize the new SIM as a Telus SIM, but I cannot send or receive any text messages. I get a error saying message will be sent when service becomes available. If I do try to make a phone call a message says cellular network not available.
When I try to submit this issue to PublicMobile on the web page form, an error says my email doesn't match, but it does, and is "verified".

Hello @whiteoak

 

I tried changing your plan temporarily to a talk and text plan, can you reboot your phone and test to see if you can make and receive calls?

It's most likely issue with the SIM card, but just in case, you can check this out.

I had a similar problem when I first signed up. I put my sim into another phone to receive the verification text and then I was able to access my account. Hope you're able to resolve your issue quickly 😊

Thanks for your help today @Shazia_K, and although my phone number is now displayed alongside the SIM info (so we did make some progress), the phone will still not send or receive a text, and if I try to make a call, it just keeps saying "cellular network not available". 😞

GIve public mobile some time to sort out the issue.

 

The website say.. give public mobile 48 hours ... turn around time.

 

Public mobile pricing is cheap... so dont expet supre fast solution.

While I think we've diagnosed as far as we can mods will start responding at 9 am est best of luck and I'm sorry for the rough start with PM they are a good company though with a few bumps.

Phone was purchased unlocked and has been used successfully in the past, with a different provider's SIM.

Where did you get your unlock code because it kinda sounds like a bad SIM or a locked phone.

Hopefully someone else can help because I'm not sure what to do but you should remove your account number as this is a public forum and anyone in the world can see that.
