You won't want to contact Public Mobile customer support agents about this.  They will not be able to help you unless you're trying to insert another carrier's SIM card in the phone which would indicate that your phone is locked to Public/Telus.  As you've said in the thread title that the phone is asking for a network unlock PIN, this is full confirmation that your phone is locked to a carrier.

HI @SweetMagicat   if it is SIM Card PUK you need, you can use this direct link

Hi @SweetMagicat   the only one that PM able to help is for SIM card PUK.  If you have set a PIN on the SIM card, you need to enter the SIM PIN every time the phone is rebooted.  If you entered too many wrong one, then it will be locked but PM Support can help

But if the PUK is for something else, then PM won't be able to help

What is the exact message shown on your phone?  There are a few versions that mean different codes.

From a previous thread:

SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK."
- This is asking for Samsung's "master code" - I got this after entering the wrong code for the message below too many times. Samsung and/or your previous carrier can give you this.

"SIM network unlock PIN"
- This is asking for your previous carrier's unlock code - just contact them with your IMEI and they'll give it to you easy peasy. If you enter this incorrectly too many times, you'll get the error message above.

PIN unlock key (PUK) is a SIM-specific code used to prevent unauthorised use of a SIM card.

The PIN (Personal Identification Number) enables secure access to the SIM card and network. It is provided with your SIM card.

    • If the PIN code is entered incorrectly 3 times, the phone is locked (except for emergency calls) and requires a PUK (Personal Unlock Key) to reactivate it.
    • Once the PUK is recovered and validated, you will be asked to choose a new PIN.

If you have a Samsung phone, it maybe locked by Samsung or a carrier and you need to contact Samsung Canada at 1-800-726-7864 or by the carrier listed on your phone under Cellular Network.
