I had an iPhone13 and now have iPhone 17 and having same issue. I ported over all info from my 13 to 17 and then in attempt to clear the issue, I wiped the 17 and reinstalled as a new phone loading everything new. Problem is it appears once Facebook was loaded, my network connection was either very slow or blocked completely. Things take forever or I get error messages stating cannot connect to server etc. I’ve turned off background refresh and the autoplay/auto load for photos and videos. I’ve reset network setting a couple of time and I've got tons of room left on my cellular data plan - shouldn’t be throttling. I’m baffled! Any suggestions?

Do you have a VPN installed on your phone? I have the same issue when I open Facebook but when I disable the VPN…no issues.

One possibility that has tripped up other apps at times in recent months, IPv6. You can check if your device is using IPv6, tests might also report issues.

You can try toggling into airplane mode for 30 seconds to a minute and turn it off. See if that helps connect you to the system. You can also change your 5G to 4G in your settings and may find better results. As stupid as that sounds, I'm on Telus as well and I was having a ton of issues and speed issues on 5G. I put it to 4G LTE and all the problems went away and I was still getting 5G speeds. Give it a try.

try using 4G/LTE instead of 5G...see if that helps.
