Network bandwidth concern (5G)

I'm planning to buy a phone from China (vivo) and the phone specifications info about bandwidth network. So I'm not sure if PM support the phone I'm buying. Can anyone confirm?

4G FDD-LTE: B1/B3/B5/B8/B28A; 4G TD-LTE: B34/B38/B39/B40/B41(2496~2690MHz).

5G: SA: n1/n5/n8/n28A/n41/n77/n78, NSA: n41/n77/n78.

Not worth the headache. You'll have no end of issues, especially when Canada shuts their 3G networks down (re VoLTE).

@ubonboy   Based on your picture you only have two options.  Check out this map to see if the towers near you have those, tap on a tower icon to see what it has

PM uses Bell and Telus, I notice one Telus tower near me has neither of the two in your image.

@ubonboy  Regardless of bandwidth, there are no Vivo phones on Public Mobile's VoLTE list and it does not show as compatible on Rogers 3G shutdown list either (which takes effect in July after which a non-VoLTE phone won't work on Rogers carriers).  While PM's VoLTE list seems to be somewhat incomplete, I also checked AT&T in the USA which is a PM roaming partner and didn't see any Vivo phones there either.   So even disregarding the bands, the phone's compatibility seems limited.  Without VoLTE it likely won't work in the USA where VoLTE is a requirement if you ever plan on visiting there.

@ubonboy

What model Vivo is the phone?

Looking at your frequencies specs. The Vivo is NOT compatible with PM.

4g: B1, B2, B4, B5, B7, B17

5g:N66, N78

This is not a comprehensive list. These are just the bands available when I checked using an app on my phone.
