I lost access to my phone number and was assigned a new one upon activation of e-sim. I need to get my old number back on this account

Did your lost your number from your old account which you forgot to pay for over 90 days? If you did, you can try to ask PM and there is a slight chance they can assign it back if the old account was closed not long ago
Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
Or message them using this link:

how long ago did your old account get deactivated. Once that happens, your number goes back to wherever it was created..ie Telus or Bell or wherever you came from before PM.
added...try dialing that old number to see if it's been re-assigned already.

@Sothy Did you reply YES to the confirmation text when transferring number to public mobile , be leaving old providers sim in the phone ? You had to reply YES with in 90 minutes of receiving the text . Can you confirm if your old providers account is still active I’m guessing it is and the port was never fully completed
