One week into my $10 plan and my 50 texts ran out. Now what am I to do with my now useless plan? There is no add on for texts and no option that I can find to renew my plan. The only option that I can find is to upgrade to a $30 plan. Anything I’m missing?

Ok thanks. Will just change plan then and pay the extra —with the $25 credit they gave me.

There is no button to renew your current plan now. To renew a current plan early, that can only be done by mods, otherwise, you simply wait until your regular renewal date for autopay to do its work. When you do a plan change, it will give you an option to "change plan now" or "change on next renewal date."

Yes bell had a good thing going and also at that time had good service . Now they have much lower rates and very poor service and forcing us to deal with not so well trained people at oversea call centers.

Well please realize that if not happy with the provider it’s easy to just switch to another provider. These companies no longer have control ( remember what bell used to charge for our land lines and long distance ) and are kissing our behinds to entice us to use their services.

Thanks for advice— using iMessage as much as possible but thought that each text conversation counted as one text but now feeling a bit ignorant I realize that even just sending a smiley counts as one text. Oh well live and learn.

For $30, you can get a 1 GB add on in which the unused data can carry on to the next month until it is expended. You can then use an app like TextNow, which offers free texting and voice calls through data and wifi. You then only have to use your Public Mobile quota when needed.
If you do not mind paying $10 for 6 months, Fongo also offers texting. Fongo has a cool feature where you can get it to forward texts to you Public Mobile number, to increase your chances you can get you Fongo text message sooner.

@will13am, absolutely see your point, and for sure PM is making good $$ from that. Just seeing that some customers seem to be mad about the situation, when clearly it falls on them and nobody else. If a car saleperson tells me the vehicle can only go up to 60 mph, but I'm all excited because the price is $500, and then I'm on the highway barely getting anywhere, I can't go back to the seller and be mad at them, lol.

I think it's just adding more to the MODS plate when they could be working on more serious customer issues. I guess there could be those one off situations, but I've noticed a number of these same type questions lately and I'm starting to wonder if it's truly just a coincidence, or if people are trying to just get a cheap service price, and hoping they could just get some type of $5 add-on when they run out, and still pay under $20. If that's the case then I think people need to remember these companies aren't entirely stupid, they've tested these numbers and they generally know all these tricks that customers will try to do, and they'll for sure block the one's that they know will have a major effect on the bottom line. I used to work for one of the big 3 companies and I've been in those meetings, and everything under the sun had been reviewed before being released in the marketplace.
Don't think of it as a favor, think of it as extra revenue. Imagine a customer renewing this $10 plan 2-3 times every 30 days. It is pretty good revenue, although a bit disruptive on the customer service end. @katiatall, try using MMS.

@katiatall Perhaps consider switching to a data based texting app and restrict your texting to times you have access to wifi. The $10 texts would then be for emergency only. fongo.com has one such app and has unlimited SMS texting for about $3/month.
You could also get a data add-on; as they never expire until completely used the 1 gig add-on might last you 6 months for a total cost of $15/30 days.
Don't bother with the $20 data only plan; the $10 plan with the 1 gig data add-on will be same price if you make that 1 gig last 90 days!

There is a $25 unlimited text / province talk plan you may want to switch over, and you can do it yourself in self serve "my account" just click "renew now"
But for $5 more you can do the $30 unlimited canada wide plan and also get 1/2 gb of data (if you build a custom plan) (but set it up as $90 per 90 days so you get 1.5gb over 90 days for the DATABUCKET)

@katiatall, recommend you choose a plan that fits how you use your phone. If you send 100 texts a month, don't choose a plan that only gives you 50. Suggest you upgrade your plan to a plan that truly fits your usage. And if you want you price to be less, then take advantage of all the rewards available.
I'm really not understanding why people keep getting this $10 plan and then get upset when they use it up. This is not supposed to be a plan for people who use their phones regularly. Clearly says 50 minutes and 50 texts. If you need more, then get the $25 unlimited talk and text, and enjoy the freedom of no limits

You can ask the moderators to renew your plan early, by sending them a private message by this Moderator_Team link. Include your phone number, account number, and PIN. Make sure you have enough funds in your account to cover the renewal.
However, if you think that 50 texts will not be enough to cover your usage going forward, it may be a better idea to upgrade your plan.
