@flash2425   You confirmed the phone was blacklisted from the link I posted above?

where did you buy the phone from?   usually the phone the original owner of the phone has to work with carrier to get to phone off the blacklist.  But if you got it from private sell, usually it's hard to track the original owner

@flash2425  - sounds to me your phone is locked to Rogers (which is why the Rogers SIM works with it, but not the Public Mobile one).

Contact Rogers to unlock it for you. You will need your imei number, dial *#06# to get it.

OR,

Your model is not compatible with Public Mobile.

Public Mobile uses the following frequency bands:

  • 4G LTE and LTE Advanced: 700 MHz, 850 MHz (band 5), 1900 MHz (band 2) and 2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS).
  • HSPA: 850 MHz, 1900 MHz (UMTS).

Check out these sites to see if your model is showing compatible:

https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA

https://willmyphonework.net

https://www.frequencycheck.com/

  • 3G or WCDMA 2 (1900 MHz ) and 5 (850 MHz) bands  makes the phone compatible, which is needed for phone calls, and can also be used for text messaging and data.
  • LTE can be used for text messaging and data.

Hopefully @flash2425   can confirm the  brand/model is the phone, also, how about changing network to 3G ONLY?

@flash2425   If the PM SIM works on another phone and just not your current one, maybe it is a device issue

Interesting situation. OP mentioned that Rogers SIM works in his phone but not PM. And that PM SIM works in another phone!?!?!

SIMs should be physically identical to blame phone not accepting PM's.

PLEASE let us know if this gets resolved (or not).

@flash2425  Reboot your phone with the PM SIM  installed. What is the exact message you see?

Do you have a Samsung and  recently used a different carrier SIM?

Still, please confirm if your phone is "clean" here:  https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/

(it should, just being safe)

What brand/model is your phone?

Did you try changing to 3G only and see if it works

You can try 'home remedies' first:

- Check your self-serving account. Does it say your plan is Active?

- Remove SIM, clean gently contacts, blow dust from SIM slot in a phone

- Put SIM back

- Reboot your phone

- Check with other people in vicinity if their phones work particular if they have PM service

@flash2425

Check to see if there are any outage in your area:

Also check your Account Status on your account to see if it is Active, Suspended or Expired.

@flash2425   Did you check My Account and confirm if your account is active?

do you have another phone and put your PM SIM into it and test it out?

You can also try to change the network type to 3G ONLY or WCDMA ONLY and see if it connects

what brand and model is your phone?

Also, you might want to confirm if your phone is clean and not blacklisted here:
